Minimum Skills/Requirements
Skills: High School Diploma and/or GED. Less than one year experience in institutional housekeeping.
Knowledge: Requires knowledge of housekeeping and infection control in terms of what is to be done and an understanding of how it is to be done.
Abilities: Mental Power: Ability to make routine decisions that usually have a limited number of solutions.
Mental Power: Ability to exercise judgment in selection of the order of work assignments to meet clearly established schedules. Unusual cases or schedule changes are often
referred to the immediate supervisor for resolution.
Physical Power: Walk/on feet continuously. Assume and maintain various postural positions from ground level to overhead. Lift up to 100 pounds 1 foot. Carry 50 pounds 10 feet.
Push/pull up to 50 force pounds. Foot and hand used to operate equipment. Climb ladders.
Primary Job Functions
- Cleans patient rooms, offices, rest rooms and others areas of the hospital on a daily basis.
- Follows good housekeeping techniques with infection control procedures.
- Performs all laundry duties that are required daily.
- Provides on call duties by responding promptly.
- Observes safety policies and reports any unsafe conditions immediately.
- Performs other functions as required.
